preparing your baby's room

preparing babys room

As a mother of two toddlers, I feel that I now have everything I need in my girls rooms but I still catch myself looking at baby stuff and thinking " ooh that is cute, wish I needed it"!

So I thought I would put together a few ideas of how I would do a new baby's room now. These rooms are unisexe, otherwise I would have put pink everywhere (if you know me, you know!).

When I was planning my girls rooms, I always thought you needed three main pieces of furniture: a baby bed or crib, a chest of drawers with changing table and an armchair. I choose a baby bed rather than a crib because I wanted it to last more than a few months, and a sturdy chest of drawers with easy gliding drawers so I could store the diapers in the first one and have it open easily every time (which we know is a lot of times!). The armchair was also essential to me so that I could feed the girls at night comfortably, it is now great to read bedtime stories.

For decoration, I personally always opted for stickers as they are easy to install and a cheaper option than wallpaper (especially if you are renting), but you can find some amazing wallpapers out there, we love the ones by our friend Pamina of Kariokas for a splash of colour. I then added some framed artwork, a cute rug, some cushions and you're done!

Hope it is helpful to you, let me know if you would like a tour of my girls room as they are now!

Des idées si jolies et fonctionnelles! Je m’en inspirerai certainement la prochaine fois que je suis enceinte. :)
